Alan Stuart has retired as a partner of the firm as he has been appointed a Judge of the High Court of Fiji.
Alan is still available to act where he is an executor or a trustee and is in regular contact with the firm.

Who is Alan?
Alan has an excellent legal knowledge and extensive experience across a broad range of legal issues. With strong academic qualifications and a keen interest in how the law works in society Alan is calm under pressure and provides great confidence to his clients as he navigates them through challenging situations. The ability to listen and understand a client’s perspective is one of Alan’s particular strengths.

When asked what he enjoys most about his work Alan says, “Solving problems for clients, including the intellectual challenge of finding workable and achievable solutions”.
Why Law?
Throughout his career in law Alan has been involved in a number of cases that have made a significant difference to the New Zealand business and legal environment. These include cases relating to judicial review of statutory or regulatory decisions, the admission of rental cars to airports, the spillover of business reputation to New Zealand by Australian businesses, tax issues, a dispute between District Health Boards and a rest home regarding payment of rest home subsidies, disputes about guarantees, and many others.
Outside Work
Alan is actively involved in the Citizens Advice Bureau outside of work. He enjoys spending time with his family who he credits with providing ongoing support, stability, encouragement and relaxation.
